Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, has reacted to trending rumor that she’s HIV positive.
Recall that a content creator, Olaoluwa Segun on Friday, in a viral video said that the actress among five Nigerian actors living with HIV.
Amusa, while responding to the rumor in a video she posted on her Instagram page, Amusa explained that the content creator picked up a post she made sometime in 2019.
While debunking the rumor Dayo Amusa confirm that she’s HIV negative, though she confirm making such post about her HIV status six years ago to educate the public.
Amusa however further threatened to files a legal action against Olaoluwa Segun
In her video posted on Ig she “I want to address a circulating video across all social media platforms since the last 24 hours. A video posted by someone I don’t know, and people start to tag me in it.
“The video is related to a post I made in 2019 regarding my HIV status, which was negative. The purpose of that post was to educate people on the importance of knowing their HIV status. And even if, for any reason, you’re positive, it’s important to seek medical help and take the necessary steps. After all, it’s not the end of the world.
“It’s shocking that someone picked it and enlisted me with others, claiming we are HIV positive without any proper investigation. The post has attracted several comments and likes. I am not going to let this slide. I will make you a scapegoat,” she added.
