“Legally, the idiot Actually Makes a Point” – Lawyer Ayo Shonaiya Responds to Speed Darlington’s Defense

Lawyer and entertainment consultant, Ayo Shonaiya, says legally speaking, controversial singer, Speed Darlington, has a point in the video he made in which he insisted he will not be honoring NAPTIP's invitation.

The agency had asked him to come forward to answer questions bothering on the statement he made in a video on Instagram in which he claimed he slept with a virgin 15-year-old girl in a hotel and even paid a staff of the hotel N2000 to clean her blood afterwards.

After defying their invitations, the agency last Friday declared him wanted.

In a video he shared online yesterday, Speed Darlington insisted he was not going to honor their invitation.

According to him, he only spoke irresponsibly and irresponsible speaking is not a crime. He argued the agency has no evidence against him and so shouldn’t  be invited over for questioning.

The singer said he charges N2.5m for appearance, so the agency would have to pay him for ‘’an appearance'  at their office.

Reacting to Speed Darlington's position, Shonaiya stated that in as much as he does not want to trivialize the issue at hand, legally speaking, Speed Darlington does have a point with his position.
