The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of N9,235,000 in student loans to 245 students of Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev, in Benue State.
This funding initiative aims to provide targeted financial assistance to both educational institutions and their students, thereby improving access to tertiary education and reducing financial barriers.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigerian students and ensuring uninterrupted academic progress through financial interventions.
The management of Akperan Orshi Polytechnic has formally acknowledged the receipt of the funds and expressed appreciation to NELFUND for its support.
In a letter signed by the Acting Rector, Dr. Dogo Azua Samuel, the institution conveyed gratitude for NELFUND’s continued dedication to higher education:
“On behalf of Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev (AOPOLY), I sincerely acknowledge receipt of the student loan disbursement made by the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) on June 26, 2025.
A total of 245 of our students benefited, and the disbursed sum of N9,235,000 has been duly credited.
We deeply appreciate NELFUND’s commitment to easing the financial burden on students. This support will significantly help them pursue their academic goals without disruption.
Please accept our gratitude and our continued cooperation in line with your reporting requirements.”
NELFUND also revealed that, as of July 14, 2025, it has disbursed a cumulative total of N77,034,184,108 to 396,252 students across the country.
This total includes N41.7 billion allocated to institutional tuition payments and N35.3 billion provided as upkeep allowances to students.
