Super Falcons beats Zambia 5-0 to book WAFCON semi-final spot

The Nigeria’s Super Falcons have rolled into the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after trashing Zambia  5-0 in the quarter-final clash on Friday.

The opening goal came  with a header in the 2nd minute header from Osinachi Ohale

The Super Falcons  with a record of nine-time champions later doubled the lead as Esther Okoronkwo slotted home a shot after a cross from Rasheedat Ajibade

Nigeria made it three after Chinwendu Ihezuo's long ball from Chiamaka Nnadozie found the striker, and she did the rest with a composed finish.

The second half brought more misery for the Zambians as Nigeria maintained possession and stretched the play.

After the break, Esther Okoronkwo delivered a free kick, with Tosin Demehin meeting it with a towering header.

Folashade Ijamilusi sealed the tie with a tap-in from a Rasheedat Ajibade cross, her first goal for the Super Falcons.

The win sends Nigeria into the last four of the competition.

The Falcons continue their quest for a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
