US Rapper Kendrick Lamar Tops 2026 Grammy Nominations With Nine

Kendrick Lamar leads the pack for the 2026 Grammy Awards with nine nominations, the Recording Academy announced on Friday.

The American rapper scored nods for album of the year with GNX, best rap album, record of the year, and song of the year. He will compete for the night’s biggest prize against Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, Tyler, the Creator, and Clipse (Pusha T & Malice).

Lady Gaga follows closely with seven nominations, tying producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff for second place. Carpenter, Thomas, and 2025 Super Bowl halftime show performer Bad Bunny each earned six nominations.

Bad Bunny also made history as the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated in all three major categories—album, song, and record of the year. His track “DtMF” is up for record of the year alongside Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” Doechii’s “Anxiety,” Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower,” Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” Chappell Roan’s “The Subway,” and “APT” by Bruno Mars and Rosé.

Lamar’s “Luther” also secured a song of the year nomination, competing with hits like “Abracadabra,” “Anxiety,” “APT,” “DtMF,” “Wildflower,” “Manchild,” and “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters.
