Aide to Governor Okpebholo Warns Against Unauthorized Political Posters in Edo against APC Ahead of 2027

An aide to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has stirred controversy after warning that only All Progressives Congress (APC) materials will be tolerated in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to the aide, individuals or groups displaying banners or posters not affiliated with the APC in Edo during the campaign season “will face consequences.”

“Edo is an APC state, and everything within it must reflect that reality,” the aide reportedly said, emphasizing that the party will not condone what he described as unauthorized political displays.

The statement has drawn criticism from opposition supporters and civil society groups, who argue that such remarks undermine democratic principles and the right to political expression.
