Nigeria’s D’Tigers kicked off their 2025 FIBA Men’s AfroBasket campaign in style, defeating Madagascar 77–59 in their opening Group B clash.
The Nigerian side set the tone early, edging the first quarter 18–14. Madagascar responded strongly in the second quarter, winning it 23–20, but D’Tigers still held a narrow 38–37 lead at halftime.
After the break, Nigeria stepped up the pace, pulling nine points clear at the end of the third quarter, 55–46. They maintained control in the final period to seal a comfortable 77–59 victory.
D’Tigers will face Tunisia next in their second Group B fixture.
