Singer-songwriter Christina Perri, famed for her hit “A Thousand Years,” has filed for divorce from her husband, Paul Costabile, ending their seven-year marriage.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show that Perri filed on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The documents also list the same day as their official separation, suggesting the decision was recent and swiftly acted upon.
Perri and Costabile share two young daughters, 7-year-old Carmella and 3-year-old Pixie. In her filing, the singer requested joint legal and physical custody of the children.
The 38-year-old artist also asked the court to prevent any spousal support for Costabile, a television personality and entertainment reporter. The filing notes that the couple has a prenuptial agreement in place.
The pair first met in 2013 during an interview and married in December 2017, with their eighth wedding anniversary coming up in just six weeks.
This marks Perri’s first marriage. The split follows a series of personal challenges for the singer, including her public discussion of pregnancy loss and her journey through grief and motherhood.
