Wike-Led PDP Faction Postpones Ekiti Gubernatorial Primary

 



A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of the Ekiti State gubernatorial primary, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The party cited logistical challenges as the reason for the delay.

The announcement was made in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, and signed by the acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.

The letter stated:
"We wish to inform you that the PDP Ekiti State Congress and Governorship primary slated for November 8, 2025, has been postponed due to logistical constraints affecting this exercise. A new date will be formally communicated once decided. Kindly refer to our earlier correspondence on this matter and accept the assurances of our highest regards."

the PDP faction, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu, is aligned with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
