Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman Involved in Heated Touchline Clash With Manager Ivan Juric After Substitution (Video)

Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman was involved in a tense confrontation with his Atalanta manager, Ivan Juric, on Wednesday night, October 5, after being substituted during their Champions League home match against Marseille, which Atalanta eventually won 1–0.

Lookman, 28, was taken off in the 74th minute for Yunus Musah. As he made his way to the bench, television cameras captured a heated exchange between him and Juric. The argument quickly escalated, with Juric seen grabbing and shoving the forward. CEO Luca Percassi and midfielder Marten de Roon rushed in to separate the pair and defuse the situation.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juric later approached Lookman after the match for another brief exchange, though the details of their conversation remain unclear.

This latest incident adds to growing questions about Lookman’s future at Atalanta. His relationship with the club has previously been under scrutiny, particularly following past friction with former manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who once described him as “the worst penalty taker” he had ever coached.

Following an unsuccessful attempt to leave the club over the summer, Wednesday’s touchline altercation has reignited speculation about whether the Nigerian international will remain with the Serie A side.
