Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed when he intends to finally marry his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez.
The football icon, who proposed in August after nearly nine years together, revealed during the first part of his interview with Piers Morgan that the wedding is scheduled for next summer—after the 2026 World Cup.
When asked about their wedding plans, Ronaldo joked:
"Not yet. We plan to do it after the World Cup—with the trophy! But she’s not someone who likes big parties. She prefers private things, and I respect that."
He added that what moved him most during the proposal was that Georgina cared more about his sincerity than the ring itself:
"She asked if I was honest. I said, ‘I want you and I want to marry you.’ I didn’t cry, but my eyes were full of tears."
Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, had shared the engagement news on Instagram with a photo of her dazzling ring and the caption: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Experts estimate that Ronaldo spent around £1.5 million on the ring—a 15–20 carat diamond described as “extraordinary” by jewellery specialist Laura Taylor. She noted that its impressive size and clarity could push its value even higher, especially if the diamond is natural and of top-tier quality.
The couple’s highly anticipated wedding is now set to follow the global football event in 2026.
