Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe, 61, shares how he shed 57 pounds

Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe has opened up about his remarkable 57-pound weight loss at age 61. Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the actor attributed his transformation to a two-part approach: significantly reducing casual alcohol consumption and leveraging a modern health services platform to manage inflammation and pain.

Crowe highlighted that a key factor in his weight loss was changing his relationship with alcohol. While he embraces drinking as part of his "cultural heritage," he acknowledged the need to adapt as he aged.

"We normalize both drinking and wagering, but we never look at the damage they cause," Crowe told Rogan. He added that he now avoids casual drinking for its own sake.

"If I have a glass of wine with dinner, it’s going to be a really nice wine. One night of ‘fun’ is enough for me these days," he explained, emphasizing quality over quantity.

The second crucial element of Crowe’s journey was his involvement with Ways2Well, a health services platform offering advanced preventive care. Rogan himself introduced the actor to the program.

Crowe shared that he has been undergoing personalized treatments, including injections and IV therapies, which have helped reduce inflammation and manage pain.

"Ways2Well was a great call for me because it’s calmed down a bunch of stuff. It’s taking a lot of the pain away so I can work out without suffering for hours afterward. It’s calmed my body’s inflammation," he said.

Being able to exercise without prolonged discomfort allowed Crowe to maintain the consistent physical activity essential for such a dramatic transformation.

He joins others, including country singer Jelly Roll, who have credited Ways2Well with supporting their weight loss journeys, underscoring the value of patience and consistency over quick fixes.
