PDP in a Hopeless State — Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in a dire and almost irredeemable condition, describing it as a mere shadow of what it used to be.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, Fayose expressed doubt that the party could regain power, citing ongoing internal crises.

“The PDP is in a hopeless situation and has become a shadow of itself. At this moment, the party needs a unifying leader,” he said.

“There is no hope of the PDP returning anytime soon. Even the captains of our ship are jumping off—moving from one platform to another. Who then is left to keep the party together?”

Fayose added that the party had “practically gone into extinction,” accusing the Damagum-led National Working Committee of acting like undertakers sent to bury the party.

He criticised the committee for engaging in suspensions and counter-suspensions despite having only a few months left in office.
