Renowned Kannywood actor Mato Na Mato, widely known as Malam Nata’ala, has reportedly died following a long battle with illness.
Malam Nata’ala, who hailed from Potiskum in Yobe State, was best known for his notable role as an almajiri school teacher in the popular Arewa24 Hausa drama series Dadin Kowa.
Before his passing, the actor had repeatedly appealed online for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses.
His public pleas eventually caught the attention of Niger’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, who extended support amounting to ₦27 million.
