The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has indefinitely suspended Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe following allegations that she assaulted a crew member on a movie set.
According to reports, Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during a film production, prompting immediate disciplinary action from the AGN.
In an official statement addressed to its state chapter chairmen and the national chairman, the Guild announced Igwe’s suspension pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
The AGN cited her actions as involving “violence and indiscipline capable of bringing disrepute to the acting profession.”
The statement also instructed members to avoid participating in any film project involving Igwe during the suspension period.
