Alex Otti calls for higher federal allocation to Abia State.
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to increase the state’s share of federal revenue, stating that such an increment would accelerate development in the state.
Governor Otti made the appeal on Sunday while receiving the Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at RMAFC, Mrs. Nkechi Otti, at his office.
He emphasized that a boost in federal allocations would enable the state to undertake more developmental projects, noting that his administration has maintained financial discipline, as confirmed by a recent report from the Debt Management Office (DMO).
“Anything you can do to help us increase our federal allocation will be greatly appreciated,” the governor said. “We have many projects in the pipeline, and with more funding, we can execute them effectively—especially since we have demonstrated financial prudence.”
Earlier, Mrs. Otti explained that her visit was part of a familiarisation tour, following her recent appointment to the commission.
