Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Melaye received his ADC membership card from party leaders in his office, an event captured in a video he shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday.
The card was presented by Kingsley Temitope, the ADC leader in Kogi State, alongside other state executives including the state secretary, local government chairman and secretary, as well as the ward chairman and secretary.
Wearing clothing emblazoned with ADC’s insignia, Temitope stated:
“I present to Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye the membership card of the African Democratic Congress. He is now a full member and had begun contributing to the party even before formally receiving his card.”
In response, Melaye posted:
“SDM fully ADC.”
Melaye’s defection comes after he publicly resigned from the PDP, citing the party’s inability to address what he described as Nigeria’s “prevailing political cankerworms.”
