Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71, with his official cause of death confirmed as acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). The iconic WWE Hall of Famer passed away on July 24 in Florida.
According to documents obtained by Page Six, Hogan had also been privately battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) — a form of cancer affecting white blood cells — and had previously been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder. His death has been classified as natural causes, and a request has been submitted to the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center for cremation, although no date has been finalized.
Longtime friend and former WCW executive Eric Bischoff shared an emotional remembrance during his 83 Weeks podcast, recalling his final conversation with Hogan.\
“He sounded tired... he said, ‘I really want to see you, but I’m kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way.’”
Despite his declining health, Bischoff said Hogan’s spirit remained strong.
“It was work for him to have a conversation, but he was the same guy.”
Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, reflecting on the emotional journey they shared.
“When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him,” she wrote.
Brooke admitted their relationship had been strained in recent years but revealed they reconciled during his illness.
“We had been through almost 25 surgeries together... then everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him.”
Tributes from fans, fellow wrestlers, and public figures have poured in across social media, honoring Hogan’s larger-than-life legacy in the world of professional wrestling.
