PDP Will Keep Losing Elections in Lagos — Former PDP Governorship Candidate Jandor
Former Lagos State governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has declared that the PDP stands little to no chance of winning elections in Lagos due to its lack of grassroots structure.
Speaking on Saturday after casting his vote in the state’s local government elections at Polling Unit 001, Ward D in Irewe, a riverine community in the Ojo area, Jandor emphasized that the PDP remains largely unknown at the community level.
Adediran, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the ruling party’s long-established grassroots network gives it a decisive advantage.
“While in PDP, we came with fresh ideas and gave our best, but we couldn’t break through because the party simply isn’t rooted in the grassroots,” he said. “The APC, on the other hand, has built a strong presence in every community across Lagos. It’s a household name.”
He added that even beyond PDP, he doesn’t see any party displacing the APC in Lagos now or in the foreseeable future.
“People like us, along with our supporters, decided to join the APC to contribute to building on the legacies of past leaders rather than remain in opposition,” he explained
