Several Injured as Commercial Bus Somersaults on Third Mainland Bridge

Several passengers narrowly escaped death on Monday following a collision between a commercial bus and a Toyota Camry on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

According to a statement shared by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Facebook, the accident occurred just before Adekunle Junction, heading toward Lagos Island.

The commercial bus reportedly somersaulted multiple times after the crash, leaving many passengers injured.

“A commercial bus and a Toyota Camry were involved in an accident before Adekunle Junction. The bus somersaulted several times, leaving many passengers injured,” the RRS said.

Patrol teams and RRS bikers swiftly responded to the scene, administering first aid to the injured. Officers from the Adekunle Police Division also assisted with rescue efforts.

Emergency responders were mobilised shortly after the incident. Thankfully, no fatalities were recorded.

The RRS added that the affected vehicles have been cleared from the road, and normal traffic flow has since resumed.
