Tinubu Reassures Nigerians: "Nation Is in Safe Hands" Amid Security Gains

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace, law, and order across Nigeria, especially in areas affected by insecurity.

Delivering the message on Tuesday through National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Tinubu spoke during the commissioning of newly built housing units in Kaduna State. The housing project, executed in collaboration with the Qatar Charity Organisation, is part of broader efforts to rebuild communities devastated by banditry and violent attacks.

“Nigeria is in safe hands, and we will restore law and order. That is our firm assurance,” Tinubu stated.

He acknowledged the progress made in stabilising Kaduna State, describing the current atmosphere as one of renewed hope and growing peace.

“Recovery is in motion, and it’s evident that a fresh wave of optimism is sweeping through Kaduna. Change is taking root,” he said.

Emphasising the government’s responsibility to prioritize citizens' welfare, Tinubu stressed the importance of supporting victims of violence and rebuilding their lives.

“We are drying the tears of those affected by extreme violence. We’re reconciling divided communities and fostering inclusiveness,” he added.

The President praised the Kaduna State Government, the NSA’s office, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their combined use of kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to combat insecurity.

He also commended the ‘Kaduna Peace Model’—a locally-driven, community-based, and intelligence-led framework—as a sustainable solution to security challenges.

Highlighting concrete signs of progress, Tinubu cited the reopening of the Birnin Gwari Market and the return of displaced farmers to their farmlands.

“This marks a turning point for Kaduna State — a transformation rooted in recovery and renewal,” he said.

To the victims of violence, Tinubu offered words of empathy and solidarity: “We hear you. You have endured great pain, but you are not alone. Your suffering is acknowledged.”

He extended his appreciation to Qatar Charity for their partnership and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to implement impactful, lasting interventions.

“Tackling terrorism remains a major challenge, but it is a top priority under our national security strategy,” the President concluded.
