Malaysian Woman Shares How Pregnancy Hormones Transformed Her Face

Farah Faizal, a marketing manager from Malaysia, has gone viral after revealing how her face became “100 per cent” unrecognisable during pregnancy.

Posting two unfiltered side-by-side photos on X (formerly Twitter), Farah showed the dramatic changes: from clear, glowing skin to redness, swelling, and painful cystic acne. Her nose enlarged, deep smile lines appeared, and new wrinkles formed on her forehead and between her brows.

The changes began about two months into her second pregnancy. “The closer I got to my due date, the worse it became,” she said, adding that she sometimes felt insecure seeing “glowing” pregnant influencers online.

Farah credited her husband and best friend for offering constant reassurance and encouragement. “Don’t think pregnancy is easy—every woman’s experience is different,” she said, urging men to appreciate the sacrifices women make.

She hopes her story raises awareness about the lesser-seen realities of pregnancy. “It’s not just about the bump and baby kicks—there are physical, emotional, and mental changes,” she told Malaysian media.

Farah gave birth in July and says her skin is now slowly healing with the help of monthly laser treatments.
