Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a friend he has known for 22 years.
Speaking to journalists after visiting the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday, Soludo made it clear that he has “no apologies” for standing by Tinubu and his reforms.
During the visit, the governor was spotted wearing a cap emblazoned with Tinubu’s insignia—a gesture he said dated back to the President’s visit to Anambra State, when billboards proclaimed the unity of “progressives working together.”
Explaining the significance, Soludo said:
“It’s a principle I deeply believe in. All political parties that embrace progressivism should join forces in a broad coalition—not just to strengthen our democracy, but to drive the economic and social development of our country. When I speak of progressives working together, it’s an open invitation to everyone who shares this vision.”
On his personal ties to Tinubu, Soludo stated:
“President Tinubu is my friend, and has been for 22 years. You don’t turn your back on a friend. I support him wholeheartedly. I’m impressed by the decisive steps he’s taking—especially in the economy and structural reforms. I’ve said it many times: we are on the right path; we just need to stay the course.”
