Tensions flared at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Sunday when a female passenger on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo physically assaulted a flight attendant, sparking chaos both on board and within the terminal.
The incident occurred just days after a separate high-profile airport altercation involving veteran Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Eyewitness videos circulating on social media show the passenger — identified as Comfort Emmanson — striking the air hostess in the face while shouting, “What did you do?” The visibly shaken crew member was heard telling bystanders, “She is hitting me.”
The footage also captures Emmanson removing her wig, screaming, and lunging at airport officials and other individuals attempting to restrain her.
After multiple failed attempts to de-escalate the situation, airport security personnel forcibly escorted the passenger into a waiting bus to prevent further disruption of airport operations.
In a related update, Ibom Air has reportedly placed a lifetime ban on the passenger for her conduct.
