Tinubu nominates Kingsley Ude from Enugu to replace Nnaji as minister

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the name of Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, SAN, from Enugu State to the Senate for screening and confirmation as a minister.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the president’s letter during Tuesday’s plenary session. Following the announcement, he referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further review and screening.

Ude’s nomination comes after the resignation of the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji. Nnaji, the sole minister representing Enugu State in the Tinubu administration, stepped down last month amid controversy surrounding his academic credentials from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and his NYSC discharge certificate.

His exit created a vacancy in the federal cabinet and left Enugu State without ministerial representation, prompting the president’s new nomination.
