Woman discovered trapped inside suitcase on Ireland bus rescued, emerges shouting ‘Thank God’

A shocking incident aboard a Citylink bus has prompted a police investigation after a woman was found trapped inside a suitcase in the vehicle’s luggage compartment.

Citylink confirmed in a statement released on Friday, Nov. 7, that the woman was an “unauthorised” passenger on the service.

Footage circulating on social media shows the suitcase lying on its side in the luggage hold of a Galway-bound bus. A woman’s voice can be heard calling out from inside.

The person recording the video approaches the suitcase and unzips it, revealing a distressed and confused woman, according to Galway Beo.

A man is heard asking, “Who put you in there?”

The woman eventually climbs out, repeatedly saying, “Thank God, thank God,” before sitting up and burying her face in her hands.

In a statement to Galway Beo, a Citylink spokesperson said: “We are aware of the footage involving an unauthorised traveller on one of our services. We have assisted the Garda with their investigation.”
