AfroBasket 2025: D’Tigress Face Off Against Cameroon for Semi-Final Berth

 


Defending champions, D’Tigress of Nigeria, will take on Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket today (Thursday) at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, CĂ´te d’Ivoire. Tip-off is scheduled for 10pm Nigerian time.

The Nigerian side booked their place in the last eight after winning both of their group-stage matches—starting with a dominant 92-45 victory over Rwanda, followed by a hard-fought 65-60 win against Mozambique.

Cameroon secured their quarter-final spot with a convincing 85-64 win over Angola in their final group game.

Led by head coach Rena Wakama, D’Tigress are aiming to make history by becoming the first team to clinch five consecutive Women’s AfroBasket titles.
