American Rapper Tory Lanez Ordered to Pay Megan Thee Stallion’s Legal Fees After Mocking Her Lawyer

A Florida federal judge has ordered Tory Lanez to cover Megan Thee Stallion’s legal expenses following his disruptive conduct during a deposition in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz.

The April 9 deposition, held via Zoom from prison, descended into chaos as Lanez mocked and insulted Megan’s attorney, repeatedly interrupted questioning, and refused to answer basic questions. Due to his behavior, the court imposed sanctions and mandated that he pay attorney fees related to the deposition.

Court documents and reports from AllHipHop reveal that Lanez missed the April 30 deadline to explain why he should not be held in contempt. Consequently, the judge not only levied financial penalties but also decided that a magistrate judge will oversee all future depositions to ensure order. Megan’s legal team is now seeking the appointment of a special master—also at Lanez’s expense—to supervise any upcoming testimony.

This ruling is part of Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing defamation case against Milagro Gramz, who is accused of spreading false and damaging claims about Megan’s mental health, drug use, and personal life, allegedly with involvement from Lanez and his father.

In a related decision, Gramz was fined $5,000 for obstructing court-ordered forensic access to her social media accounts.

The case traces back to the 2020 shooting incident in which Megan was injured and Lanez was convicted. This latest ruling adds to the Canadian rapper’s mounting legal challenges.
