Ebenezer Obey, Alaseyori Lead Worship at Lagos Praise 5.0 Hosted by Sanwo-Olu’s Wife

The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has extended deep appreciation to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), religious leaders, and the wider Christian community for their consistent prayers and spiritual support, which she said have been instrumental in fostering peace, growth, and development in Lagos State.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu made these remarks during the fifth edition of Lagos Praise, an annual interdenominational Christian concert organised by her office. Held at the LTV Blue Roof in Agidingbi, Ikeja, this year’s event carried the theme “Freedom Through Praise” and created a powerful atmosphere of thanksgiving, worship, and praise.

Quoting Psalm 67:3 — “Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee” — the First Lady emphasized that praise is a divine channel through which God’s presence is invoked. She added, “Psalm 22:3 reminds us that God inhabits the praises of His people. With this truth, we are assured of His presence and the miracles He will continue to perform in our lives and in our state.”

She noted that the theme was inspired by Acts 16:25-26, which recounts the miraculous deliverance of Paul and Silas from prison — a clear testament to the power of prayer and praise to bring divine intervention.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu also reflected on the significance of praise in the life of the administration, stating, “As the First Family of Lagos State, we place great value on gatherings like this. At the beginning of our tenure, we introduced the Monthly Praise and Worship Programme in collaboration with CAN, Lagos Chapter. This holds every last Thursday at Lagos House in Marina and Ikeja, reaffirming our trust in God for daily direction and breakthroughs.”

She thanked Lagos residents for their unwavering support and prayers, expressing confidence that the state and the nation will continue to experience God’s peace.

The Lagos Praise 5.0 concert featured uplifting ministrations from celebrated gospel artistes including the legendary Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Yinka Alaseyori, Yinka Erinle, and choir groups representing the five administrative divisions of Lagos, aligned with the five blocs of CAN.

The event was graced by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin. Also in attendance were members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries, religious leaders, government officials, and worshippers from across Lagos — all underscoring the state's continued dedication to honouring God and promoting interfaith unity.
