Bandits Abduct Two Wives of Prominent Businessman, Mother and Four Children in Katsina

 

 

Armed bandits have abducted the two wives of a prominent Katsina businessman, Alhaji Babangida Mai Goro, along with a mother and her four children, in a late-night attack on Dutsinma community, Katsina State.

The attack occurred on Tuesday night, July 29, 2025, when the assailants stormed Mai Goro’s residence in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Dutsin-Ma town. Unable to locate the businessman, the gunmen reportedly seized his wives and fled to an unknown location.

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed the incident on Wednesday, expressing concern over the security breach. “ALERT: Last night, bandits invaded a home in GRA, Dutsin-Ma, abducting the wives of Alh. Babangida Mai Goro after not finding him at home. It's deeply troubling that such an attack could take place in a major town like Dutsin-Ma without resistance,” he wrote on social media.

In a related development, Facebook user Auwal Mati Timo reported that the same night, his sister, Hassana Mati Timo, and her four children were also kidnapped from their home in the GRA area. He shared an image showing a section of the house's wall broken by the attackers to gain entry.

The incident has sparked alarm among residents, who are calling for heightened security and urgent action to rescue the abducted victims. Authorities have yet to release an official statement as of the time of this report.
