"NECO Announces 2025 BECE Results, Schedules Resit Exams for July 23–24"

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, NECO disclosed that a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.

While the statement did not include details on candidates’ performance, it confirmed that the examination was conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025.

According to Sani, the release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee meeting, held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna.

Chairperson of the committee, Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the process leading to the release of the results.

The meeting was also attended by NECO management and select secondary school principals from across the country.

NECO further announced that the resit examination has been scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025. It will cover Mathematics and English Studies.
