Nigeria’s D’Tigress have secured a place in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket with a hard-fought 75-68 semi-final win over Senegal.
The victory marks their ninth straight triumph over Senegal and extends their unbeaten run in the competition to 28 games under head coach Rena Wakama. The team remains firmly on track to clinch a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title.
Senegal had a strong start, racing to an 11-2 lead, but D’Tigress responded quickly to take a 22-17 advantage by the end of the first quarter.
Nigeria kept the momentum going in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 43-37 lead.
Senegal bounced back in the third quarter, turning the tide to lead 54-50.
However, D’Tigress stepped up in the final quarter to seal the win and book their spot in the championship game with a 75-68 finish.
