El-Rufai Warns: “Nigeria May Cease to Exist If APC Continues in 2027”

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has issued a stern warning about the future of Nigeria, saying the country may not survive another term under the current ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during a grassroots mobilisation event for the opposition coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto on Saturday, August 2, the former APC stalwart declared his readiness to rally Nigerians against what he described as an incompetent administration.

"I'm not in politics for personal gain," El-Rufai stated. "I'm in politics to serve the people. When a government fails to serve its citizens, it's my duty as a senior citizen to speak out and take action to change that reality."

He explained that his involvement with the ADC stems from a broader coalition of individuals opposed to the current government’s policies.

“We have come together to form this coalition that led to the adoption of the ADC. I firmly believe that if this party and government are allowed to remain in power beyond 2027, Nigeria’s remaining social capital will be completely eroded—and we may no longer have a country to call our own. This is a fight for our survival,” he said.
