Ex-Taraba Lawmaker Defects to ADC

A former member of the House of Representatives, Danjuma Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Shiddi, who represented Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in the 8th and 9th National Assembly, announced his defection in a statement to his supporters across Taraba State on Saturday.

He explained that his decision followed “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations,” adding that the ADC would now serve as the vehicle for his political movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shiddi, who commands strong grassroots support in Southern Taraba, urged his followers to rally behind him as he embarks on a new political journey.

“After careful thought and wide consultations, I am pleased to announce that we will be charting a new course under the banner of the African Democratic Congress,” he said. “This will serve as our platform as we actively engage in the democratic process leading into the 2026/2027 elections.”

The former Chairman of the House Committee on Internal Security also expressed gratitude for the support he has received since leaving the APC, describing it as proof of his movement’s strength and determination to serve the people.

He called on his supporters, sympathisers, and all who desire good governance to stand with him and the ADC in the coming political dispensation.
