‘If the NFF Calls Me, I’ll Be Glad to Come’ – John Utaka Open to Coaching Super Eagles

Former Nigerian international John Utaka says he would be ready to coach the Super Eagles if approached by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Utaka, recently appointed head coach of Montpellier’s women’s team in France’s top-tier Division 1 Féminine, told Brila FM he would be “glad to come” if given the opportunity, adding that his focus would be on getting the best out of the players.

“If the NFF calls me, I’ll be glad to come. The job is to coach the players to the maximum,” the ex-Portsmouth forward said.

The 48-cap Super Eagles veteran scored six goals for Nigeria, helped the team to third place at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, and featured in two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2010).
