Popular celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna—widely known as IVD—has reportedly been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to reports, IVD was taken into custody on Friday by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions as he attempted to travel to Qatar for his upcoming wedding to controversial relationship influencer, Blessing CEO.
Reacting to the viral news on Saturday, blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus confirmed via Instagram that IVD’s arrest is connected to the ongoing court case surrounding the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
“The domestic violence case related to his late wife is still in court. IVD is not permitted to leave Nigeria until the matter is resolved,” she stated.
Bimbo Ogbonna passed away in October 2022 after sustaining fatal injuries in a fire allegedly triggered by domestic violence at their Lagos home.
The Lagos State Government subsequently charged IVD with one count of involuntary manslaughter under case number LD/21055C/23.
