Okpebholo Sends Five Commissioner-Nominees to Edo Assembly

 


Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has nominated Professor Roland Otaru, SAN, alongside four others, as commissioners-designate.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Umar Musa Ikhilor, the other nominees were listed as Barr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae, Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen, and Charity Amayaenvbo.

Ikhilor added that the names have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Otaru, a distinguished legal practitioner and academic, hails from Edo State. Uwadiae, a former chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC), was among the 14 elected lawmakers denied inauguration during ex-Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.

Ogbeiwi previously served as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, while Idehen is a former commissioner and one-time chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
