Okpebholo Vows to Strengthen APC in Edo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to restructure and fortify the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to accommodate the increasing influx of defectors.

The governor made the promise on Sunday during the campaign tour of Joe Ikpea in Esan West Local Government Area, ahead of next Saturday’s Senatorial by-election in Edo Central.

During visits to Ogwa, Ujogba (wards 1 and 2), and Illeh (ward 10), Okpebholo formally welcomed a large group of new members into the APC.

“When I told Mr. President that I would deliver 2.5 million votes, some people asked where I would get them,” Okpebholo said. “But you can see it happening already. The number of people I’ve received today as new members is more than those who were in the party before now.”

He emphasized the need to “redefine and reposition” the APC, explaining that the growing membership requires a stronger structure to carry everyone along. He announced plans to convene a meeting of the defectors to strategize for the future.

Okpebholo urged party members to remain united and dedicated, assuring them that his administration would continue to strengthen APC’s grassroots structures to secure future electoral victories.
