Rivers ADC Boasts Over 800,000 Members

The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) says its membership has surged past 800,000, positioning the party as a growing political force in the state.

At a weekend press briefing in Port Harcourt, ADC spokesperson Luckyman Egila celebrated the influx of prominent figures into the party, including two former governors, federal lawmakers, and other influential politicians.

Egila described the Rivers chapter as “the beautiful bride” of the ADC, noting that the party has been steadily attracting key players ahead of the 2027 general elections. Among the latest high-profile entrants is former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus.

Also joining the ADC are former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Okpara, and former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo.

“These individuals have officially registered and received ADC membership cards, making them full members of the party,” Egila said. “They are political heavyweights in Rivers State, and you cannot write them off.”
