TikToker Peller Cries Out Over N36m Tax Demand From Lagos Govt

Popular TikTok creator Peller has expressed frustration over what he describes as an excessive tax bill from the Lagos State Government.

Speaking during a recent livestream with singer Peruzzi, Peller revealed that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) had asked him to pay ₦36 million in income tax.

“Taskforce said I should pay ₦36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” he lamented.

Peruzzi, in response, questioned why Peller had not paid his taxes, reminding him that every Nigerian is obliged to do so. “Do you know you’re supposed to pay tax as a Nigerian? Do you know how much I pay as tax? I won’t mention it here but it’s more than the tax bill they gave you,” the singer said, urging Peller to settle the bill to avoid jail time.

Peller, however, insisted the amount was unreasonable, arguing that the government had never supported him during any of his TikTok live sessions. He claimed the hefty bill was a result of flaunting his assets and disclosing his TikTok earnings online.

While Peruzzi advised him to appeal for more time to pay, Peller maintained that his income comes solely from social media, not from activities within Nigeria.
