A viral video has emerged showing American singer Lil Nas X wandering the streets of Los Angeles around 4 a.m., dressed only in white underwear and cowboy boots.
The 26-year-old artist was spotted on Ventura Blvd., where he interacted with a passerby who filmed the encounter. In the clip, Lil Nas X could be heard singing, urging the person to head to a party, and at one point warning he would throw their phone if they lingered. He also playfully placed a traffic cone on his head during the exchange.
According to TMZ, multiple people called police after witnessing the incident, fearing the star might be experiencing an overdose. When officers arrived, Lil Nas X allegedly charged at them. He was subsequently restrained, handcuffed, and transported to a hospital by paramedics.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed officers responded to reports of “a man walking in his underwear” along Ventura Blvd. “Upon arrival, the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and arrested for battery on a police officer,” the spokesperson told CNN.
Records show that Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was booked on a misdemeanor charge of battery against a peace officer. Following his hospital release, he was transferred to the Valley Jail in Van Nuys.
