A farmer in Funtua, Katsina State discovered a baby abandoned on his farm on Monday morning, October 27, 2025.
Reports shared on social media indicate that the farmer came across the infant while inspecting his crops, finding the child lying helplessly among them.
It is believed that the mother may have secretly given birth and left the baby out of fear or shame.
The farmer reportedly alerted nearby residents and promptly informed the Funtua Divisional Police Headquarters.
Police officers and health workers swiftly arrived at the scene, taking the infant to a nearby hospital for medical assessment.
