Nicki Minaj has announced that she will no longer be releasing her highly anticipated sixth studio album, initially slated for March 2026 — and she’s placing the blame squarely on Jay-Z.
In a series of posts shared on Wednesday, October 15, the rapper shocked fans with the announcement:
“OK, I'm not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you're happy now @sc. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”
Minaj tagged Jay-Z’s account (@sc) but offered no detailed explanation for her decision. However, prior to the official announcement, she posted cryptic messages suggesting interference from unnamed individuals.
“They don’t want me to put out music. Me winning makes them feel like they lost. They’re right. But it didn’t have to be this way,” she wrote.
She further alleged that “lots of people part ways in business” and hinted that Jay-Z’s Roc Nation may have played a role, mentioning attempts to “sign Wayne, Drake, [and] me.”
In another tweet, Minaj referenced Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez and claimed that industry figures tried to reconcile with her for business reasons:
“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ.”
The announcement adds a new chapter to Minaj’s ongoing public feuds, coming shortly after her latest online clash with fellow rapper Cardi B.
