NNPCL Cuts Fuel Price as Dangote Refinery Supply Issues Improve

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Saturday reduced its petrol pump price following an improvement in supply challenges previously reported at the Dangote Refinery.

Recall that the state-owned oil company reviewed its retail fuel price downward to N945 per litre, from the previous N955, marking a N10 reduction.

The updated price has already taken effect at NNPCL retail stations in Gwarimpa and Wuse Zone 4.

In a similar move, Eterna filling station in Abuja also lowered its pump price to N945 per litre.

The price adjustment comes as nationwide fuel supply stabilises, aided by output from the Dangote Refinery and contributions from petroleum product importers.

Just over two weeks ago, a supply disruption at the Dangote Refinery triggered a spike in fuel prices across the country.

It will be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently approved a 15% import tax on petrol and diesel—an action analysts warn could lead to price increases in the coming weeks.
