Inter Milan set to submit enhanced bid for CAF Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman

Inter Milan are preparing to return with an enhanced bid for Nigerian international and reigning CAF Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman.

The Serie A powerhouse is eager to strengthen its attacking lineup ahead of the upcoming season and has identified the 27-year-old winger as a priority signing. Lookman has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Nerazzurri, signalling his willingness to make the move to the San Siro.

Atalanta, however, turned down Inter’s initial offer last week, which is believed to have included a loan deal with an obligation to buy. The Bergamo-based club, commonly known as La Dea, are reportedly holding out for a permanent transfer fee in the region of €50 million.

Talks between the two clubs are expected to resume this week, with Inter preparing a revised offer in a bid to meet Atalanta’s valuation, according to reports from Italy.

In a further indication of his commitment to the Inter project, Lookman is said to have rejected a recent approach from reigning Serie A champions Napoli.

Since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, Lookman has emerged as a key player under manager Gian Piero Gasperini. His pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability have made him one of the most influential wingers in Serie A.

Former youth internationals and football analysts have urged Lookman to embrace the opportunity, noting that a move to Inter would be a significant step forward in his already impressive career.
