Liverpool seal £79m deal for striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, making summer spending beyond £290 million"

Premier League champions Liverpool have completed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in a deal worth £79 million (€91 million).

The Reds will pay an initial £69 million (€80 million), with an additional £10 million (€12.5 million) in performance-related add-ons, bringing their summer spending close to the £300 million mark.

The 23-year-old French forward is expected to join Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong within the next 48 hours, ahead of their upcoming friendly against AC Milan on Saturday.

In a statement, the club said:
"Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, subject to international clearance. The 23-year-old has successfully completed his medical and agreed personal terms, allowing him to link up with his new teammates in Asia later this week."

Ekitike becomes Liverpool’s seventh signing of the summer window, joining the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and goalkeepers Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman.

The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker had an impressive season at Frankfurt, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists, playing a key role in securing Champions League qualification. While naturally a central striker, Ekitike is also capable of playing as a second striker or on the wing—versatility that Liverpool value highly.
