"Presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala warns that ADC will collapse within six months in 2027."

The presidency has forecasted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition will disintegrate within six months, citing its lack of clear ideology and absence of a viable agenda for Nigerians.

During an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, dismissed the coalition as an insignificant political threat. He highlighted concerns raised by Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, who recently warned that internal disputes over the coalition’s presidential flag bearer could cause instability. Baba-Ahmed also cautioned the public against being swept up by the initial enthusiasm surrounding the alliance.

Bwala described the ADC coalition as a group of “internally displaced politicians” lacking credible policy proposals. “They have yet to present any alternative policy; all they do is criticize and release press statements. The reality is, they have no vision and have not demonstrated genuine care for Nigerians,” he stated.

He further minimized any threat to President Tinubu’s administration, insisting the coalition’s internal divisions will prevent it from lasting. “It is common for such movements to experience a brief period of idealistic excitement. But as Datti pointed out, the main issue is the contest for leadership — everyone wants to be president. I believe the coalition will dissolve within six months,” Bwala concluded.
