President Bola Tinubu has revealed that he initially chose not to watch the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) out of concern for his health, fearing it could trigger high blood pressure due to the tension.
“Honestly, I didn’t want to watch the match. I was afraid of developing high blood pressure. But people came into my room and switched on the TV to the channel showing the game.”
“When it was 2-0, I got very restless and quite upset. But I continued watching.”
“I was deeply impressed by the indomitable spirit, determination, and courage the team displayed.”
The Super Falcons staged a remarkable comeback to defeat host nation Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final on Sunday in Rabat.
