"WhatsApp group involving Iyabo Ojo, Samklef worked against justice for Mohbad – VeryDarkMan claims"

Nigerian activist and social media critic, Vincent Otse Martins, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has accused a group of prominent celebrities of colluding to distort the narrative surrounding the death of late singer Mohbad and to silence those seeking the truth.

In a recent Instagram video, VeryDarkMan alleged that actress Iyabo Ojo coordinated a clandestine WhatsApp group involving entertainment figures such as music producer Samklef, Davido’s associate Dre, and actor Jigan Baba Oja. According to him, the group served as a command centre for spreading misinformation and plotting his arrest in a bid to discredit his activism.

He claimed the group actively worked to undermine the public’s demand for accountability following Mohbad’s controversial death in September 2023, and used media manipulation to steer public opinion away from uncomfortable questions, including those regarding Mohbad’s close associates and the paternity of his son.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that the release of his nude video by a gossip blog and his subsequent imprisonment were tactics designed by the group to intimidate and silence him.

He maintained that his only offence was advocating for a thorough investigation and transparency. Vowing not to back down, he promised to release damning evidence from the alleged WhatsApp group chat, which he claims will expose a deliberate effort to mislead the public and suppress justice.

“They used influence, false narratives, and blackmail to shut me up—because I dared to ask the questions they wanted buried,” he said.
