Ezekiel Nathaniel powered into the men’s 400m hurdles final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships after a dominant display in Wednesday’s semi-finals.
The 22-year-old crossed the line in 47.47s to secure victory in his heat.
With the result, Nathaniel becomes only the second Nigerian ever to reach the final of the event at the World Championships, following Henry Amike’s achievement at the 1987 edition in Rome, Italy.
The men’s 400m hurdles final is scheduled for Friday, where Nathaniel will aim to add to Nigeria’s medal tally after Tobi Amusan’s silver medal win on Monday.
